For almost three years I had been praying for the Lord to bring doves to my home. Low and behold, I have seen three generations of doves and in the past two months. Every day I would talk to the doves and sing hallelujia, hallelujia, Jesus loves you. The mother and father doves were very accustomed to seeing me and hearing my voice. As soon as the baby doves were born, I would stand on a six foot ladder and take digital photographs of them. Each generation of doves trusted me and allowed me to get as close as two feet from them. One precious photograph showed the baby dove under the shelter of the mother's wing. I immediately thought of Psalm 91: 1-4
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare of the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I am trusting Him. For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from the fatal plague, He will shield you with His wings, He will shelter you with His feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
I'm looking forward to the next family of doves, but I think that it will be a while before I will see them again.
This was especially meaningful for me because I have been on disability and out of my 1st grade classroom for over a year. These little doves rekindles my enthusiasm for photography and brough me a lot of joy.
